Melancholia, in which a planetary collision threatens to destroy the world. What makes
Melancholia so good is not that it's a big sci-fi picture, but that it stays completely on a personal level with people who cannot do anything to help or stop their predicament. The planet serves as a grand metaphor for the state of life these characters find themselves in. It's a great movie, even if it's not scientific whatsoever.
